ChatGPT surpasses 200 million weekly active users
OpenAI, the developer of the popular chatbot ChatGPT, announced that the number of weekly active users of the artificial intelligence bot has exceeded 200 million users, which is double the number of active users since last November.
Many major technology companies are racing to develop their own technologies in the field of generative artificial intelligence, and in the midst of the competition, ChatGPT maintains its position as a leading chatbot, and the company is moving forward to strengthen its position by preparing to launch the large language model GPT 5.0 soon.
According to a statement from the company, 92% of companies listed on the Fortune 500 now rely on OpenAI products, while the use of the automated API has doubled since the launch of the mini version GPT-4o in July.
CEO Sam Altman commented on this achievement, saying: “People are now using our tools as part of their daily lives, making a real difference in areas like healthcare and education, whether it’s helping with routine tasks, solving difficult problems, or unleashing creativity.”
Meanwhile, big tech companies like Microsoft, Google and Meta are competing fiercely to attract more users to their chatbots, and Meta recently announced a significant growth in the adoption of its open-source Llama models, with its use among major cloud providers doubling between May and July of this year with the new Llama 3.1 release.
This ongoing battle for users shows how important generative AI has become in our daily lives.
