Dia: Design flowcharts, UML diagrams and Databases (Free software)

Dia is a free open-source program for designing and building technical diagrams. It is fairly easy to use and can be installed on macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Requirements for macOS

The following requirements have to be met in order to use the DMG above:

  • Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and 10.6 Snow Leopard, 64 or 32bit
  • 64-bit capable Intel CPU
  • X11 (e.g. XQuartz) Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion users and Mac OS X 10.7 Snow Leopard users that don't have X11 installed yet, can download and install XQuartz for free from xquartz.macosforge.org.
  • Runs and tested on Apple Silicon and M1
