Google revolutionizes interactive search with new AI-powered features: queries across images, videos, and voice
Google has launched a set of new features powered by the Gemini AI model in Google Lens and AI Overview services, allowing users to ask questions in multiple ways, including images, videos, and audio content.
The company has also expanded the scope of the "Circle to Search" feature to support more than 150 million Android devices.
Google Lens is a visual search tool powered by artificial intelligence (AI) that allows users to search and interact with the world around them through their device's camera, images, or screenshots.
It uses AI and machine learning to recognize objects, text, and environments in photos and live camera feeds, providing information and actions based on what it sees.
Google Lens AI updates
Interactive video feature: Allows users to direct voice inquiries about anything that appears in front of them in the video, for Google to respond immediately.
Voice inquiries: A new addition that allows users to ask voice inquiries about items that Google Lens recognizes, and is currently available in English.
Circle to Search: A new feature that allows searching for songs while browsing or watching videos without having to switch between applications.
Google Lens turns your device’s camera into a powerful tool for identifying, searching, and interacting with the world visually. It transforms how users interact with images and the environment by providing real-time information and smart actions based on visual input.
AI Overview updates:
As for the AI Overview system, Google has provided a smart update that enhances search results, as it combines articles, videos, and discussions from forums. AI-provided summaries support direct links within the text to facilitate access to original sources.
