Apple has released a new update to its operating system called (iOS 18.1)

The new update (iOS 18.1) was released last Monday evening, which finally brought to the world (Apple Intelligence), an important set of artificial intelligence features that Apple is introducing for the first time, which makes the phone faster and easier to use.

However, many early users have resorted to social media to complain that the "disappointing" update is draining the battery life.

One person said: "I have installed the new update for less than an hour and I noticed the battery drain when checking email and scrolling." Another user said: "The battery drain is very large if you turn on Apple Intelligence."

The update (iOS 18) also contains urgent security fixes that can prevent the iPhone from being hacked, which makes this update an important matter and not a trivial or luxury.

According to the Daily Mail report, if the battery is drained, there are a number of measures that can be taken to save energy and keep it for a longer period and not need to recharge it as often.

Battery drain occurs when the phone uses more energy than it normally uses, which means that the device must be charged frequently or even kept connected to the electricity.

The newspaper says that although Apple has not yet commented on this problem, it is normal for the user to experience battery drain following an update that consumes a lot of energy, so the first step is to be patient, as sometimes it may take hours or even days for software changes to be completed, which means that the battery health may decrease or fluctuate during this period.

ZDNet researcher Adrian Kingsley Hughes said: "Installing a new operating system on the iPhone causes a lot of things to run in the background, from indexing to recalibrating the battery, and this can last for hours or even days."

“Not only does this consume power, but recalibrating the battery can give the impression that the battery is draining faster when in fact it is not,” he added.

If battery problems persist for longer, users should check the maximum capacity of the phone’s battery, which is found in the settings, the newspaper says, as the iPhone’s ability to hold a charge decreases as the battery chemically ages, which can lead to fewer hours of use and poor performance between charges. If the battery needs to be replaced, a “critical battery message” will appear indicating that its health has deteriorated significantly.
