eDEX-UI is a fascinating cross-platform, full screen terminal emulator and system monitor that has a strikingly unique sci-fi computer interface. The project draws heavy inspiration from the TRON Legacy movie effects, particularly the Board Room sequence, in order to create an experience that is out of this world.
The project was initially intended to be a "DEX-UI with less 'art' and more 'distributable software'" in order to make it more accessible to users. This goal was certainly achieved, while still maintaining a futuristic appearance that is both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional.
In fact, eDEX-UI prioritizes functionality and usability in real-life scenarios, making it a great tool for anyone who wants to get work done with style. Its ultimate goal is to bring science-fiction user experiences to the mainstream, which is a lofty but admirable goal that is sure to inspire many people to try it out and see what the hype is all about.
