Fidus Writer is a self-hosted editor for researchers. It features collaboration tools and options that allows researchers to share and collaborate on papers. The project is in continuous development and it gets new features and improvements every upgrade.

The editor itself looks simple but it comes with many features that ease researcher's work like a built-in academic citation manager that supports sharing and collaboration, live-editing, and simple easy-to-use interface.

Fidus Writer is built with Django which is a popular python-based web development framework. Fidus supports MySQL and PostgreSQL.

Platforms


The project offers Ubuntu Snap package which can be installed on any Linux distro that supports Snap. Fidus Writer also has an official Docker image which can be found here.
