As a developer and blogger, I leverage Google Chrome daily to navigate, code, and investigate. Regularly operating dozens of tabs is part of my routine, however, I acknowledge it consumes memory and can result in a slower browser and machine.
Well, now there is a solution for that, let's explore.
What is The Great Suspender?
The Great Suspender is a valuable tool that allows you to suspend unused or inactive tabs, effectively saving memory. Any tab that remains inactive for the default value of 5 minutes will be suspended, substantially reducing memory usage.

The process is not permanent, and you can easily recover the suspended tabs either by clicking on the suspended page or using a keyboard shortcut (SHIFT+CTRL+S for Windows, SHIFT+COMMAND+K for Mac).

Additionally, the extension offers customizable settings for the suspending behavior, which you can access by clicking on the extension icon.
